Quo Vadis?

where do we go from here?

in batman begins, bruce wayne's dad asks, "why do we fall?"
and answers his question himself, "so that we might better
learn to pick ourselves up."

finally found two poems that i wrote around five years ago.

THE UNBORN

And so I weep
for him,
whose tiny fingers
curl tightly
around mine
in sleep
he never sleeps;
whose soft, fragrant
head now
i kiss
with lips touching
only air,
and mostly
nothing else, but
dreams.

FALL

Wary
of the frailty of time
I rushed out
to collect
every
sun-dappled leaf
I could catch
in my hands
and mourned

each

that fell

to the ground

around

the shadows

at my feet.

it's funny how lines i write five years ago when my life was so much different could articulate the way i'm feeling right now. thanks, jojo.

hi marie, this was the poem i'd been telling you about in one of our ym sessions, remember? the poem about wasted ovulations :P i had no idea it could also be about a missed abortion (the medical term my sonologist used in her report).

"missed abortion", the term in all its twistedness sounds poetic. perhaps, it is I who is twisted. can i include your poem in the GG journal? :D

i'm flattered. sure, go ahead. will be looking forward to seeing "the unborn" and "fall" in the gg journal. thanks. i agree "missed abortion" IS twisted. like rubbing salt on the wound. i wonder why they cannot find a better term for it.

hi may! thanks very much. will have to ensure that "memento mori" hasn't published it in their chapbook. maaayyy, you don't need to find out how you will get a copy because you will get one! i will deliver to you :D

but since they did not pay anything, they don't have exclusive publishing rights. but gg would mind, of course.
